In Cod We Trust

Yesterday was a great day.  Started the morning out on the elliptical and with a little weight lifting.  As hard as it has been to get out of bed lately, darn you snooze button, I always feel FANTASTIC after a morning workout.  I’m thinking, “I’ve got to live closer to a gym in the future” because the hour train ride to the gym/work is just too much.

Work day was busy, but with only two more days left at my current job, I’m starting to get excited!  But the best part of the day came after work…

One of my favorite parts of summer is meeting up with friends for dinner after a long day at work.  There’s just something about the sun still being out at 5PM, meeting up at a restaurant around DC, and enjoying some summer eats!  Last night I met up with my friend Becky at the Tackle Box.

The Tackle Box is a super cute seafood restaurant.  The menu is huge, with grilled and breaded fish options, lobster, oysters, various rolls, fish tacos, tons of sides and LOTS of yummy beers and cocktails.  I wanted to try a little of everything!!

You really feel like you’re on Cape Cod when you’re at the Tackle Box and the food was fantastic.  It’s somewhat like Panera in which you order, take a buzzer, and then pick up your food when it’s ready.

I mean come on, how cute is that lobster buzzer?  Becky ordered a grilled fish with a side of mac and cheese and cornbread.  I ordered two fish tacos and Neal ordered breaded cod and a side of mac and cheese.  Becky and I also ordered their white sangria (a little weak if you ask me).

I loved the fish tacos, and half price Wednesdays made them even better!!

Today is my last full day in my current job and I’m getting SO excited!!  I think I’m also just really excited about dinner tonight… I’m having dinner with my long lost love, Randy.  Randy and I worked together a few years back and he just moved back to the area.  I ADORE him!!  Neal is going to meet up with us too, and I just can’t wait for Neal to meet Randy.  He is a great friend and I just couldn’t be happier to be in the same city as him.  Don’t you just love good friends?  They change your life!

Back in the day!

Big day ahead… but it’s all down hill from here.

  1. Work today
  2. Dinner tonight
  3. Pack for Vegas
  4. Work half day tomorrow
  5. Leave for Vegas (to visit my brother)

Can I get a WOOP WOOP??
