I don’t know if it was the grande coffee I had Wednesday afternoon, the endless to do list running through my head, or my new found obsession with Gossip Girl, but I did not go to bed Wednesday night until 3:30AM. I woke up at 6:30AM on Thursday feeling ok, but I knew that the day before me was going to be tough. I’m not too sure what’s going on with my sleep these days, but I’ve had a really hard time getting to bed before midnight all week.
Even last night I didn’t make it to bed until 11PM despite being exhausted. Just too much to do I guess. I’m going to burn out if I’m not careful, so I want to use the upcoming weekend to get back on track with my sleep.
Yesterday morning I still managed to make a wicked good smoothie before heading into work. Lets call Thursday’s smoothie a Pineapple-Strawberry-Mango Spinach Smoothie.

Splash of pomegranate juice
and you guessed it, Spinach
After work today, I met up with Neal, Liz, Matt, Mike, and Julie for dinner in Georgetown. I was rather nervous about going out to dinner while on detox, but I made it work. At Paolo’s I ordered the seasonal roasted beet salad and a side of roasted caramelized cauliflower. The salad was awesome, though it did have a fair amount of goat cheese on it and the cauliflower was AWESOME but was totally roasted with butter.
After dinner we headed over to Puro’s for coffee and dessert. Puro’s is known for their NUTELLA coffee drinks. Crazy huh? I just couldn’t pass it up for I ordered a decaf nutella latte with skim milk and ended up drinking half. The drink was very good, though I’d much rather have a spoonful of nutella to be honest. We had a lot of fun though and it was fun trying out two new restaurants.

Tonight, Neal and I are watching the Cotton Bowl at his house! I am SO excited to get into my PJ’s as soon as I get home, to watch K-State football, and to get some GOOD rest!! Saturday morning I am signed up for TWO spin classes and I have every intention of taking them both. The 6:45AM class is called Tri-Ride and the 10:30AM class, which Liz, Matt, Neal and I are taking together, is called Cycle-101.
I LOVE that my friends and I have a workout date this Saturday. It can be SO easy to always hang out over dinner, but to get able to go to a spin class together is just fantastic! It makes me so happy.
Last night I was feeling REALLY down about myself. I didn’t want to share with y’all on Wednesday, but I went to Weight Watchers Tuesday night and found out that I had GAINED 5.4 pounds since 12/13/11. I thought I might have gained a little weight, a pound or two, but was shocked to hear that I had gained 5.4 pounds. I have become so frustrated with losing this same weight over and over and over again. I feel like I haven’t been on a good losing streak since 2007 which is über frustrating. I know that i just need to focus on my detox, to be pound of my achievements, and to keep working towards my goals.
Weight loss just feels like this huge puzzle. You have to get all of the pieces lined up in order to create the perfect picture for weight loss. If I’m eating well… I’m not working out enough. If I’m working out a lot… I’m eating too much to compensate. I want to find that happy medium again. A place where I’m fueling my body with great food, am satisfied with what I am eating, and am having a ball burning calories at the gym each day. — I just need to be patient with myself and enjoy the ride.
Well I hope y’all had a fantastic week and have a wonderful weekend!! Happy Friday!!
