First off, be sure to check out my guest post on Bite Size Wellness! The post focuses on the importance of portion control in one’s journey to lose weight.
So this week I have found a few new products. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m coming off of the Whole Living Detox and my eyes are open to the world of food or if I’m really just finding new treats. Either way, I’m loving what I’m finding.
It all started Monday afternoon when I needed a snack. Thankfully the convenience store at work has lots of healthy options, so finding something for under 250 calories is usually doable. On Monday, this little beauty caught my eye, Nature Valley’s Recharge bar in Cherry Dark Chocolate with Almonds.
The bar is rather big, which made the 200 calories totally worth it! It also has 10g of protein, which is fantastic for an afternoon snack. The cherry and dark chocolate chunks make this chewy bar the perfect treat.

Then Monday night I found Trader Joe’s Spicy Hot Chocolate while grocery shopping. Oh yeah, you read that right!! SPICY hot chocolate.
This hot chocolate is legit. When they say spicy, they mean spicy. You take a sip and taste rich dark chocolate off the bat and then it hits you, this spicy burn in the back of your throat. It’s a little odd at first but then you take a second sip and realize how delicious the combination is!
It’s so fun finding new foods and treats, especially ones that don’t break the calorie bank!
Tuesday’s Food Log
Breakfast- Bowl of Erewhon’s brown rice cereal (new favorite!)
Lunch- 2 cups of Trader Joe’s tomato and roasted pepper soup (my FAV)
Snack- 2 clementines and 1/2 banana
Pre-dinner treat- Leffe Brown Belgian Ale
Dinner- Ham, pepper jack, tomato, and caramelized onion panini (from Chef Neal)
After enjoying our dinner, Neal and I started assembling our save the dates! We decided to go with a photo magnet from Wedding Paper Divas (LOVE them) and an information card from Etsy’s PixelPaper (LOVE her). I can’t wait for guests to receive them this week… next up, wedding invitations!

Spicy hot chocolate definitely sounds like something I could get behind. And then, under, as I pour it down my throat.

Thanks for the site shout out! We did save the date magnets too and I loved the thought of us on everyone’s fridge:) I love how you made your simple sandwich super fab with the addition of caramelized onions. Simple, but delish I am sure.
