A Week of Eats

I’m very proud of myself for tracking all of my calories this week, for listening to my body, and for making up my workouts even when I overslept.  I’m a little nervous about how the week will end, since I’m in San Antonio, but I just need to track my calories to the best of my ability and not just eat to eat.

Monday went very well, ending up with 696 calories left over due to Cycle Abs.

Tuesday was a very busy day and unfortunately I didn’t make it to the gym.  Still, I was able to stay above my calorie goal!  Tuesday, I was also able to try out one of my new Swanson Health Products.  I loaded up my Swanson cart with goodies like Brewers Yeast, Coconut Oil, Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum, and a few seasoning packets.

For dinner I had Trader Joe’s Mushroom Tortellonio with Asparagus.

All I did was pop that baby in the microwave for 3 minutes and voila!

I topped my 450 calories dinner with a little Swanson Brewers Yeast which gave the dinner a nutty/cheese like boost!

“Brewer’s yeast is a rich source of minerals — particularly chromium, an essential trace mineral that helps the body maintain normal blood sugar levels; selenium; protein; and the B-complex vitamins.” (source) Thank you to Swanson for letting me try out these products for free.  I can’t wait to share with y’all how I use the other nutritional products!

Wednesday morning I overslept and missed spin… sadness.  Instead of letting it get me down, I booked it to the gym and got in 30 minutes of cycling and 15 minute of stair climbing before the start of the work day.  Burning 896 calories in the gym, not too shabby!

I was also able to try out one of the Foodie Pen Pals items Annica sent me, Erin Baker’s Homestyle Peanut Butter Granola… YUMMY!

Wednesday night, Neal and I went to dinner with Matt at Pizza Paradiso… our new favorite pizza joint!  To start, I ordered the Insalata Paradiso, which was made up of Baby Arugula with Goat Cheese, Sweet Peppers, Mushrooms and Pine Nuts.  Surprisingly, Neal loved it!

For our main meal, Neal and I split the Quattro Formaggi pizza (with prosciutto).  This pizza is seriously the best with toppings of Pecorino, Fontina, Gorgonzola, Mozzarella, Parsley, and Garlic.

Thursday was well planned out, leaving me with 502 calories for my dinner.  This snapshot was taken before I worked out or had dinner, but I wanted to show y’all what my day looked like up until my departure to San Antonio.

While in San Antonio, I’m sure there will be plenty of Mexican food and lots of my Mom’s home cooking.  Portion control will be key and reaching my Nike Fuel goals each day.

Today is Stephanie’s birthday, so we’re off to get our hair done, have lunch out with my Mom, try on bridesmaids dresses and carb load for the Cystic Fibrosis Tower Climb!     I’m proud of you too, Ashley! You really just have to think of the big picture- every single day of success is going to add up! Like you, when I’m off my routine (or even just on the weekend)- I’m going to definitely be tested to do what I know is right and best for me!
    Is Brewer’s Yeast similar to Nutritional Yeast? I like the benefits that you listed- I might have to check that out!

    I love Myfitnesspal. I really want to get back into the habit of logging everything though, I’ve fallen off that, not to much damage, but just want to get back into weight loss mode!

    I ordered some Nutrition yeast and got it in the mail the other day. Can’t wait to try it!
