St. Patrick’s Day in West Virginia

After our Saturday morning shred and hike, my bridesmaids and I got ready for an afternoon in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.  St. Patrick’s Day wouldn’t be complete without green attire and a few beers at a local pub.

Berkeley Springs is quant, filled with lots of antique stores and a surprising number of holistic shops.

The girls and I walked around the town for about an hour, stopping into a few shops and then making our way over to a local pub.

Although we had dinner planned for later in the day, we decided to get a few appetizers and beers.

The fried pickles, corned beef bites, ahi tuna, and fried spinach were very tasty and a nice mid afternoon treat.  I wasn’t a big fan of the spinach, way too oily, but the girls really enjoyed it.

As we were making pizza for dinner, Stephanie ordered a steak (pizza isn’t her favorite) and let me tell you, she enjoyed every bit of that 18oz. steak.  A guy even came over to our table and said, “that’s a mighty big steak for a girl like you” and Stephanie replied, “yep and I’m going to eat every ounce of it!”.  Love her!

The highlight of our trip to Berkeley Springs were the 4 blue mason jars I found in an antique store.  I can not wait to show them to y’all and to use them for my wedding.

So I have to tell y’all, I had the WEIRDEST dream last night.  I dreamt that it was my wedding day but I had forgotten to do about 10 things, like picking up my flowers.  I had to spend so much time getting things together before the wedding that the ceremony started 1 hour and 20 minutes late.  People were upset, I didn’t have my veil, the music was all wrong, and the minister went missing after Neal and I got to the top of the alter.  It was a hot mess.  Oh and on top of that, my hair dresser didn’t show up so I had to do my own hair and I couldn’t get in contact with my day of wedding planner.  Lets just say I woke up thinking, “I had better get my “stuff” together that way the week of the wedding is painless”.

Aren’t dreams crazy?

So Day 3 of my “countdown to engagement photos” went well but I was VERY hungry come 6PM.  Going to spin in the morning left me feeling hungry all day long, regardless of the calories I was consuming.

Breakfast- bagel with light cream cheese and iced coffee (345 calories)

Lunch- lentils and a veggie patty and Trader Joe’s wonton soup (580 calories)

Snack- Greek yogurt, banana, shredded mini wheats with almond milk (485 calories)

Dinner- romaine lettuce with grilled chicken and light Caesar dressing (285 calories)

Total calories- 1695 calories

Calories burned- 543 calories (spin)

Nike Fuel- 2565/3000

On to day 4 we go… Happy Thursday!

Ha, you can expect to have that dream (or something very similar) about 5378 times again before your wedding. I call them weddingmares. Everything goes wrong, nothing is how you pictured it, you’re scrambling to get things in order, etc. I had them ALL the time before my wedding. But you know what? It will all be just fine. You know you have the big stuff covered and quite honestly, the rest is just details. If something doesn’t turn out exactly the way you intended it, you are are the ONLY person that will know. At the end of the day, you and Neal will be there, married! And that’s all that matters. :)

You guys are so cute in your green!
I had tons of weirdo wedding dreams last year, starting around this time. And you’ll probably continue to.
Your food logging from yesterday looks awesome- but just remember to try not to put too much pressure on yourself to be “perfect” for any photos. You look beautiful, no matter what.
