Last night I attended an etiquette dinner downtown DC at Zola, in a room above the Spy Museum. The protocol expert was fantastic and I loved being able to learn from her. The dinner started out with an etiquette quiz and I was pretty surprised by some of the answers.
Did you know that when dining American Style you may cut up to 3 pieces of meat at a time? Or that you should wear your name badge on your right shoulder, not on your left as most people do? Lots of fun etiquette tips out there!
The menu at Zola was pre-set and was pretty good. The steak was incredibly fatty but the dessert was awesome!
Nothing better than warm chocolate cake with espresso ice cream!
If you’ve never taken an etiquette class, I highly recommend it. You’ll learn a lot and it can make a big difference in your job search, interviews, and business meetings.

This is Neal’s and my last weekend in our current apartments (YAY) so I’ll be spending most of the weekend packing, cleaning, watching baseball and hockey, and prepping for the week ahead. I am incredibly excited about tomorrow morning as I’ll be going to spin, meeting up with my junior bridesmaids and flower girl for their dress fittings, and then hanging out with my Aunt Danielle. Can’t think of a better way to start the weekend!

Oooh I would’ve loved that class! I love learning about etiquette – I’m especially fascinated by the history behind the traditions.
I have my badge on my right sholder because I am left handed and it’s easier to put on that way.

i’ve always wanted to attend an etiquette dinner! my sister in law has gone to a couple before and she was giving me tips the last time we ate out at a fancy restaurant! so much to remember.

Hi Ashley – Would have loved to have entered the Starbucks comp, but sadly most of the ones here have closed. Boo. They make yummy drinks. And I think the etiquette dinner sounds like a great idea!
