I have a feeling this post is going to be all over the place, but that’s kinda how the past 24 hours have been. Today was a day of highs, lows, and everything in-between.
HIGH — It’s great to be back in Washington, DC after being in Indianapolis since Monday. The conference was fantastic and I worked hard to eat well and to burn calories through my workouts while I was there (all of my meals are posted on my Countdown to Wedding page).
LOW — On the flip side though, I’m feeling kinda blah today. I’m not too sure if it’s just from being away all week, flying, or what but I’m just a little out of it today. At the same time though, I got some awesome news last night that has me pumped.
HIGH (SUPER HIGH) — Upon arriving in DC, I received an e-mail from FitFluential that I had been accepted as a FitFluential Ambassador! I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of an organization that motivates others to be FitFluential and to impact those around them by making healthy lifestyle and fitness decisions.
Being an ambassador means a lot to me, not only because it will enable me the opportunity to share my story and workouts with more people but it will also connect me with individuals who will influence my own fitness.
Since moving mid May, I have primarily been using my apartment complex’s gym and my Body Revolution DVD’s as my fitness tools but I’m looking forward to trying out some new workout routines, taking dance classes, and getting back into spin after the wedding/honeymoon. I am also toying with the idea joining a crossfit box and possibly signing up for another half marathon this coming fall.
Fitness is really important to me. Despite my weight struggles over the years, exercise and fitness have always been a part of who I am. As I shared yesterday, I was a competitive powerlifter in high school and was a Division I discus and hammer thrower in college. Although my life is far different than my days of practicing for 4 hours a day, I still work hard to work out at the same caliber I did in college and hope that I can help you all to do the same.
I’m just overall pumped and excited about this next chapter in my life!
HIGH — So tonight I ventured out to Trader Joe’s for the first time since our move. Oh how I love Trader Joe’s!
I picked up a variety of protein, including a few treats for Neal (aka the meatballs and sausages),
some of the dark chocolate Zico drinks that I’ve heard so much about,
and a few other odds and ends. I’m pumped to try the balsamic glaze! I also picked up ingredients for pizza for dinner tonight.
HIGH — I love Trader Joe’s pizza dough and how easy it is to whip up a homemade pizza. For tonight’s pizza I added raw onions, red pepper flakes, and quattro formaggio cheeese. It was perfect!
Well hopefully things will turn around and this weekend will be full of highs! Tomorrow I’m looking to workout at the gym, go to the farmers market for lots of fresh produce, layout at the pool, and prep for my sister’s arrival.
