Today is a bittersweet day for me.  On one hand my sister arrives from Texas tonight… on the other hand my best friend is having major lung surgery today.   It is a bittersweet day for me today.  My prayers and my heart are with Stephanie today and I hope that the surgery goes very well.  If y’all would keep her in your thoughts, I would appreciate it more than you know!

Although I was unable to be in Texas this weekend to be with Stephanie, Neal and I had a really good weekend together (our last alone before the wedding).  You’ll have to read about Saturday, but I have to share a little about my Sunday.  It all started with this beauty…

Strawberry Cherry Smoothie

a strawberry, cherry, coconut water, and protein powder smoothie.  Neal thought it was just about the grossest thing (as it wasn’t full of sugar), but I just loved it!  After breakfast we headed up to Gaithersburg to do a little grocery shopping.

We stared out at Costco… what a crazy place, but we got a lot of awesome stuff!  We picked up trash bags, dish soap, strawberries, milk, lots of lifewater, chicken burgers, and salmon.  A trip to Trader Joe’s and Giant rounded out or shopping adventure for the day.

After lunch at home Neal and I headed to Ageless Wellness in Bethesda for 60 minute massages.

Ageless Wellness Bethesda

Massages are a special treat and yesterdays couldn’t have come at a more perfect time!  The Ageless Wellness Center is new, and in a random location, but I would definitely recommend them!  The massage was an hour long and was a mix of accupressure, a stone massage, and a traditional Swedish massage.   My masseuse was Dr.Lien-jiun Lee, LAc., whom I’d highly recommend!

The evening was spent cooking (stewed okra and tomatoes), cleaning, and preparing for my sister’s arrival.  With a kitchen full of groceries, I also started to create my meal plan for the week ahead.  I planned through Tuesday and will complete the plan with my sister after she arrives.

Tone It Up

Today is a bittersweet day, but I hope to make it a great one.   Please keep my friend in your thoughts and prayers today.
