The week of my wedding was an absolute blast. Even though my sister was in town 2 weeks before wedding week, it wasn’t until Neal’s and my parents arrived on July 1 that it really hit me that it was go time! As the 4th of July was on Wednesday, Neal’s and my plan was to work on the 2nd and 3rd, but I ended up only working on Monday. I had so much to get done that taking Tuesday off was a blessing in disguise.
On Monday of wedding week, we were featured in the Washington Post Express newspaper’s B.I.O section (By Invitation Only). It was so cool to see our story in print. Honestly, it’s something I’ve ALWAYS wanted.
On Tuesday, my brothers arrived thus making it a sibling day! After many, many errands my sister and I met up with my brothers for dinner and a movie. We went to $1 burger night at Bar Louie and then headed over to the theater to see Ted.
I adore my siblings, so it was so great to spend time with each one of them. Seeing Ted was also a hoot, though it made me realize that I am way too old to be going to a 10:30PM movie. I was exhausted.
On the 4th, we had originally planned to go down to the National Mall and to stay out until the firework show. Thankfully my sister made me aware that sitting outside for 9 hours 3 days before my wedding wasn’t the wisest idea. Instead of getting sunburned, Neal and I hung out with his family, eating cupcakes, drinking sangria, and eating awesome Mexican food at Guapos.
By the end of the day though, Neal was POOPED! It had been a long day for him, but little did he know what Thursday held for him.
On Thursday Neal was off with his groomsmen for his bachelor, so I took advantage of the day and got pedicures and manicures with my junior bridesmaids, flower girl, sister, and Mom.
My sister got me this awesome Essie color for my toes, which I loved.
Now while I was getting my nails done, NEAL WAS JUMPING OUT OF AN AIRPLANE!!! Can you believe that? I am so proud of him for doing it though, especially because he is scared of heights. Afterwards they grabbed dinner at Mortons Steakhouse and then went to Dave and Busters with my brother Paul… quite the guys day!
For dinner Thursday night, I joined my Mom’s side of the family for dinner at Mike’s Crab House in Annapolis, Maryland.
It was so great being with the Angeline and Kluth side of the family. Gotta love Italians and Germans!
Crabs gross me out, if I’m being honest, so I ordered steak and shrimp kabobs with rice and veggies.
Thursday was a wonderful, wonderful day and it made me so excited for what was to come… our rehearsal, rehearsal dinner at Nationals park, and the Nationals baseball game… to be continued
