Off

It’s a pretty smooth program, building my miles back up to 8 miles before the race.  A part of me wishes it was a longer race, but the running the half marathon that weekend would be too much.  Sadly I do not think I’d be prepare for 13.1 miles in 6 weeks.

In addition to training for the 10K, I’m starting ballet lessons this Saturday!! WOO HOO!!  After my first tap dance class and back injury, I decided that ballet was a better option for me at this time.  I’m looking forward to working on my flexibility and enjoying the freedom that comes from dancing.  This will be my yoga.

It actually hasn’t really hit me that the race is just 6 weeks away but I’m thrilled to be apart of this amazing opportunity.  Last year Neal and I ran 3 races in the fall and I’m excited to have a race on the docket already for this fall!  I’m really a fall/winter/early spring kind of runner.

Last year’s races

2011 Cranberry Crawl 10K

2011 Del Ray Turkey Trot

2011 DC Hot Chocolate 15K

I just read all of your race posts from last year and felt so encouraged!! I have always wanted to be a runner, but felt like my body just wasn’t designed for it! You guys did so great and congrats (almost a year late) on such a great 15K time! I’m so impressed and encouraged to run more! You go girl!

I think it’s so great that you are going to take a ballet class! Good luck on the 10k. You will do great and I know that you have a half marathon in your near future.
I have been doing CrossFit for a 8 months and I love it. I haven’t lost lots of weight but I have definitely tightened everything up!
