Scents of Fall

I may sound like a broken record but I am thrilled that the crisp fall weather has arrived. The past week here in the DC area has been outstanding and although rain has rolled in for the day, high temperatures in the 70′s brings joy to my heart!

With the cool air comes a plethora of fall themed products. Each fall I anticipate the return of some of my favorites but am also eager to see all of the new fall products. My first new fall favorite is Glade’s Maple Pumpkin air freshener, the of the many scents of fall.

Initially I bought 1 pack of the wall fresheners but just a few days later I was back at Target buying 3 candles and 2 more packs of the wall fresheners.  If those smell goods weren’t enough I just HAD to get this pumpkin pie candle from Yankee Candle.

Yankee Candle can be hit or miss for me but this candle is a total hit!  Neal loved this candle  too so it was well worth it!

One of my favorite returners (which is actually available all year) is Celestial Season’s Cinnamon Apple Spice tea.  I love this tea both hot and cold but currently I’m LOVING it cold.  I brew 6 bags in 6 cups of water to create a concentrate.  I then add the concentrate to a large pitcher (2-3 quarts) and top off with water.  It is just my favorite in the early fall.

My other favorite fall beverage is Starbucks’ Salted Caramel Mocha (Skim/No Whip).  I do like the pumpkin spice latte, but the salted caramel mocha is just divine!  I mentioned it last weekend but the other MUST TRY is Caribou Coffee’s Pumpkin Chai Latte.

The two other things that are making the start of this fall special are my adorable Westie puppy Theodore

and my 10K training program!  It feels so great to be back on the road and to be training for a race.  Running is difficult for me but I always love how I feel after accomplishing my goal.  Currently I am running on a 2:1 ratio, running for 2 minutes and then walking for 1 minute.  It is working really well for me and will increase the ratio over time.

Yesterday morning I tackled 2 miles, which was a good follow up to my 3 mile run on Sunday.

Well just two more work days and then I’m off to FitBloggin in Baltimore and will also be ending my scaleless summer! All in all it has been an amazing start to fall (well, it’ll officially starts this coming Saturday but still).  Lot’s of amazing things on the horizon!
