One of the many things I loved about Fitbloggin were all of the workouts we were able to try  out. Although CrossFit was not new to me, the fact that hundreds of men and women were given the opportunity to try out a WOD was pretty awesome!

Saturday morning I laced up my shoes and headed downstairs for my first Jumpsport Fitness trampoline workout.

I was convinced that I was going to bust my butt on these trampolines but they are actually incredibly stable and safe.  I don’t know if it’s just me, but trampolines have always had a very negative connotation for me… that and moon bounces.

As an overweight child I always thought I was too big for trampolines and moon bounces.  The weight limit on those things always made me think that I was too big to use them so I stayed away.  I didn’t want to be the kid who put the group over the weight limit for the equipment.

For the workout Jeff McMullen led us in a tabata workout.  A tabata is a workout in which you workout at a high intensity for twenty seconds, doing as many reps of the exercise as you can, and then resting 10 seconds.  You then repeat that exercise seven more times for a total of 8 intervals, equaling 4 minutes total for that exercise.

For our workout we did 8 Tabata rounds, equaling 32 minutes plus our warm-up and cool down.

For each Tabata round we did 2 exercises.  We would do one exercise for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, and then do the other exercise for 20 seconds followed by another 10 second rest.  We did this routine 8 times and then were given two new exercises for the next Tabata round.

Exercises included plank walks on the trampoline (shown above), various jumps on the trampoline, sit ups, burpees, and a couple other crazy moves.

I was sweating buckets by the end of the workout and loved every minute of it, mainly because of this guy!

I would really love a trampoline for my home and could totally see myself doing my own Tabata workouts or just jumping while watching my favorite shows.  I can tell you, I was pretty sore on Sunday in places I’m not normally sore… aka it works you out!

Workouts like this remind me why I love fitness … Because it’s a challenge!

So I have two questions for y’all …

1.  Why do you love fitness?

2.  What do you dislike about fitness?  or what keeps you from taking your fitness to the next level?

For me, I don’t take my fitness to the next level for one of two reasons.  Either 1. I’m tired and am lazy or 2. I am scared.
