Weight Watchers Week 6 Weigh-In

Drinking Tea When Sick

Yesterday morning I woke up with a horrible cold. I'm always amazed how much can happen to your body over night. I mean, how do you go to bed feeling ok and wake up with a sore throat, stuffed nose, and cough? After shedding a few tears and coming to the realization that I needed to stay home, I snuggled up with this cup for the day. Theo quickly snuggled up with me on the couch and slept . . . Sports Conditioning and Late Night Eating

Sports Conditioning Class Gold's Gym Rockville

Starting in January, I will have football practice two week nights a week from 8PM-10PM.  In preparation for these late night workouts, I've moved all of my workouts to evenings.  Last night I took a new class at Gold's Gym called Sports Conditioning at 7:45PM. I threw on some of my favorite Reebok gear, including a shirt I bought at the Reebok Outlet in Iowa last week. The workout k . . . Continue Reading »

WIAW: Back To Reality

Lightlife Backyard Burger

Yesterday morning Neal and I headed back to Washington, DC after a 5 day stay in Iowa. We had an absolutely wonderful time visiting Neal's parents and were lucky to have a snow free trip back. Now that we're back home, it's time to get back on track and to detox from all of the yummy eats from the past 5 days. Creating a plan always works really well for me, as it helps me with my grocery . . . Continue Reading »

Neal’s Stomping Grounds

Wheel Sculpture Iowa

Yesterday afternoon, Neal took me on a tour of his hometown of Lynnville, Iowa. Neal literally grew up on a farm in an old school house that his dad renovated. The land around the house was so beautiful and I loved seeing how drastically different it was from DC.  As we toured the land, Neal showed where he played as a kid and the roads he ran on during cross country season. He then . . . Continue Reading »

Coffee Lover Here!

Smokey Row Christmas Coffee

Yesterday was a much, much better diet day! YAY! I started the day off with a cup of coffee and a bowl of grapes. In the morning, I helped my mother-in-law price jewelry for her boutique, which was a blast. I loved looking at all of the costume jewelry and learning more about her business.  I secretly (or not so secretly) would love to open up a shop, so I love learning from her! At . . . Post Wedding Celebration

Party Finger Foods

I wish I could start off my saying, "I have done so amazing with my diet and my pre-christmas goals while here in Iowa this week" but man has this trip been tough. I think what has made it so tough is not knowing what and when we're going to eat and then not having healthy options. My eating so far has looked like this... Thursday -Steel cut oatmeal at Potbelly's in the airport -Mashed . . . Continue Reading »

Black Friday Football

Iowa vs Nebraska Game

This was my first year since I was 12 years old that I didn't go Black Friday shopping at 4AM. It was a little weird and definitely reaffirmed my love for the crazy morning of shopping, drinking coffee, eating breakfast with my friends/family, and then napping my early afternoon away. Yesterday morning, Neal and I hit the road early for Iowa City, Iowa to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes play the . . . Continue Reading »

Thanksgiving in Iowa

Main Street Grinnell Iowa

Yesterday morning, Neal and I woke up bright and early for our flight to Iowa. After much thought, we decided to bring Theodore with us, as it's probably our only chance to travel with him since he's still so small. When we arrived at Regan airport, I grabbed some breakfast for Neal and I at Potbelly's.  I was honestly thrilled when I saw that they had Steel Cut Oats as an option, so that's . . . WIAW: Weight Watchers Week 5 Weigh-In

Mixed Nuts Snack

As I look back over the past 5 weeks of Weight Watchers it's important for me to look not only at my weight loss but also at how I have grown as a person. Each week has been so different so far.  One week I'll feel great about the foods I am choosing and the next week I'll feel like I'm making too many unwise choices.  One week I'll crank out 5 workouts and the next it'll be 2. The truth is, . . . Continue Reading »

Reebok Crossfit One

Christy Phillips Crossfit

Friday morning, after a wonderful evening in Boston, I headed over to Reebok Headquarters with my fellow FitFluential Ambassadors.  I was beyond thrilled to be at Reebok, to learn more about their history, and to see what they have in store for 2013! After a small breakfast and an overview of what our day at Reebok would hold, we all headed over to Reebok Crossfit One for a crossfit WOD . . . Continue Reading »

Boston Bound

Metro Train

Thursday afternoon I headed to the airport for my trip to Reebok Headquarters. As I wasn't going to have dinner until 8:30PM or later, I searched high and low for a Weight Watchers point friendly snack at the airport.  It was a lot harder than I thought it would be to be honest.  Foods that I thought would be low in points ended up being 8-10 points a serving.  A lot more than I was wi . . . Football 101

Reebok RealFlex Fusion TR

Yesterday was my second football practice as a rookie on the DC Divas professional football team!  With some tired legs from my workouts at Reebok the day before, I made sure to take some time yesterday morning to eat a good breakfast, to drink lots of water, and to stretch, stretch, stretch!  Putting on some cute workout clothes also never hurt anyone! I think there's a connection between f . . . Continue Reading »

Weight Loss Obstacle: Late Night Eats

Reebok Headquarters

The next 48 hours are going to be an absolute whirlwind, but before I get into what the future holds let me take a few steps back to talk about the past couple of days. As I shared on Tuesday, I felt like I derailed a bit last weekend.  Neal and I had a pretty unhealthy dinner Friday night and then I had cheese at just about every meal Saturday-Sunday.  The weekend left me feeling like b . . .
