In October I…
Tried out for the DC Divas full contact football team
Ran the Runner’s World 10K race
October Goals Revisited
1. Cut back on sweets!! I have found the most success in the weight loss when I’ve really limited my sugar intake. - I wouldn’t say that I cut back on sweets but I definitely started measuring out my sweets (ice cream).
2. Drink at least 2 Nalgene water bottles a day – Yes!
3. Beat last year’s 10K time of 1 hour and 11 minutes at the Runner’s World race October 20 – Technically I ran the exact same time (1:11) BUT I did this year’s 10K up a mountain side. Ok, maybe it wasn’t a mountain but it was super hilly! I feel much faster 1 year later.
4. Spend a good amount of time creating my 29 by 29 list and committing to those goals – I am excited about my list
5. Knock a few things off my Fall Bucket List - I went for a run in Rock Creek Park twice, had a staycation with Neal thanks to hurricane Sandy, have tried out a new recipe each week so far, tackled the big fear (tried out for the women’s football team), created my 29 by 29 list, and organized all of my important papers.
November Goals
1. Track everything that I eat and log it into Weight Watchers online.
2. Begin my weight lifting program
3. Take spin class once a week
4. Create a holiday shopping plan and stay within our budget
5. Find a place to volunteer over the holidays

Love the goals
I think I will do that too to keep me in check.
I really like the holiday shopping plan and budget goal. Really great idea for newlyweds. I might be borrowing that idea.

I like your holiday budget goal which is a little similar to my November goal. My wife and I trying a new budgeting strategy for this month. I also have a goal of designing a new workout for weights and fix my running stride.
Good list and good luck!
Thanks,
Chris

I love your goals! And your 28 by 28 list! I feel like I need to start doing both… it’s such a great idea:)
I am glad that you guys are ok after the storm!
My goal for November includes track my food for Weight Watchers and I am focusing on losing a pound per week (totally do-able). I have been very active this past week walking all over town. I may be considering running again but we shall see. My other goal is to create a holiday budget and follow it through.

I love that you’re planning on volunteering. I’m fortunate to work for a company that pays me to volunteer at the place of my choice one day a year.
I’m working on running a twelve minute mile.

I love the idea of volunteering. I have just recently had a baby and want to show him what it means to having a kind, serving heart. Have you volunteered anywhere before? If so, how did you go about getting involved? Thanks,
I love that Heather and I agree too, I want my kids to know the joy of serving. In the past I’ve looked up soup kitchens or different non profits. A lot put more $ into marketing during the holidays so you’ll hear about more non-profits during this time of year. I’ve looking for donation programs and have even contacted soup kitchens to see if they know of any other opportunities. My favorite though when growing up, my mom would take us kids to nursing homes. I highly recommend that!
