I can not thank you all enough for the overwhelming response to yesterday’s post. It’s just about the greatest feeling when you open up your heart and share your struggles, only to be met with understanding and relatability.
Your support and my list of what’s keeping me at my current weight truly helped me to stay on track yesterday! I had two opportunities to eat lots of yummy and unhealthy foods, but managed to turn down the first offering at lunch and then chose wisely at a post work holiday party. At the party I had 2 mini sliders, grapes, and 3 cubes of cheese. At one point I even walked up to the dessert table, grabbed a napkin, and then awkwardly realized I was not going to feel good if I ate a brownie… so I didn’t!
As soon as I got home from the party, all I wanted to put on my PJ’s and rest but instead Neal and I headed to the gym for a workout. I was really struggling to get out of the house but once I was at the gym I felt much better. Last night I did 175 pound box squats, tricept dips, abs, and 125 pound deadlifts.
After a fantastic day though, there wasn’t much better than coming home filled with Christmas decorations and the scent of cinnamon.
My favorite decoration is my Peanuts Nativity. It makes me happy each and every year!
I am also OBSESSED with Bath and Body Works holiday candles. One of my favorites was from last year called Spice. They may sell it this year but I’ve been keeping myself from stepping into Bath and Body Works this year. I’m holding out for the semi-annual sale right after Christmas. I always buy Christmas candles then at 1/2 price and then save them for the following year.
This year, Neal and I made a new decoration for our house… a gingerbread house!
We were a little bummed when we realized it was pre-built, but we still had a blast decorating it.
Neal tackled decorating the Christmas Tree while I focused on the roof of the house.
We then decorated the rest of the house together and found a home for our new decoration.
Decorating a gingerbread house is such a fun activity, no matter what age you are. I think this time of year should be about spending time with others and finding joy in the little things. Sometimes it’s the memories you make than can make the biggest impact on your life.
Again, thank y’all for your overwhelming support!! It means the world to me and I hope that I can continue to motivate you all.
What’s your favorite holiday decoration?

Love the Peanuts nativity! Your gingerbread house is also very cute!
Eating the candy while your making it is one of the best parts! We made one last year and it was so fun! I love walking by bath and body works, the smell just lingers and I love it!
Aww… so fun!
