Post Christmas Cleanse

I had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Neal and my family but it’s time to get back on track. Last night I went to bed really early with the goal of getting some great sleep. After waking up I started the day off with cup of water and a cup of coffee.

I also busted out the juicer and made myself some fresh juice.

I juiced 2 granny smith apples, 2 oranges, 2 carrots, and a 1 inch piece of ginger.  It was a tasty and refreshing drink.

I enjoyed my drinks while reading my new book, The Happiness Project.  I’ve heard so many great things about this book and was thrilled to have gotten it from my parents yesterday.

I also started a the 14 day Trader Joe’s Complete Body Cleanse today.  I did this cleanse last January and brought it with me to Texas as I knew I’d want/need a post holiday cleanse.

A few hours later I headed to the gym with my Mom.  Armed with my new book, I jumped on the elliptical for a 30 minutes workout.

I honestly wasn’t feeling too great about my workout when I started, but I ended it feeling much better.

I knocked out 30 minutes and burned 397 calories according to the elliptical.

After my cardio workout I busted out a few kettlebell exercises.

Getting to the gym with my Mom was just what I needed.

As my Dad is from England, we are celebrating Boxing Day today.  I plan to spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing, cleaning up from Christmas, cooking with my Mom, and playing games.

As tonight’s dinner will be a similar to a Thanksgiving dinner, my goal is to use portion control and to limit my carbs.

Restarting after Christmas was really important to me and I’m glad I didn’t wait until January 1.  If you’re feeling a little blah you can restart today!! I think a lot of us think “oh well, I’ll restart in 2013″… but why have 6 more days of blahs?

    I agree Ashley! I am also restarting today. No need to feel crummy for the rest of 2012. It is great to hear that you will be starting 2013 feeling amazing!

    I totally agree! The juice looks fantastic, BTW — and The Happiness Project is a fabulous book. It’s the perfect way to close out 2012 and start 2013! :)

    I do have some tea that I start drinking each night for a bit that helps to cleanse, but otherwise i focus on lots of broccoli, apples and all that fiberous foods more than normal.

    seriously want to read that book!

    A cleanse sounds like a great idea after all that holiday indulging! We go skiing over Christmas so I don’t feel like a total slob laying around and eating food. Although there wasn’t much snow this year so there was less skiing and more laying around than usual. I’m also from England – I miss Boxing Day!!!
