The past two days in San Antonio, Texas have been wonderful. Thursday morning my sister and I headed up to the outlet malls to do a little shopping. We picked up some goodies at Bath and Body Works, Loft, Nike, and GAP.
On our way home we did something I’ve been wanting to do for a few weeks. We headed over to the Starbucks Drive Through and upon paying for our drinks asked to pay for the car behind us. It was so fun and something I want to do more often.
Thursday night Neal and I headed over to my best friend Stephanie’s. After a little catching up and hanging out with her beautiful daughter, we headed to the mall to do a little more shopping.
After picking up a few gifts for her family we headed over to Maar’s Pizza.
While we waited for our take home order I enjoyed a Lone Star Bock beer. It’s a little unreal how cheap beer is here in Texas. 2 beers for $5. In DC a draft beer is at least $6 a glass.
After a few drinks we headed back over to Stephanie and Sebastian’s for dinner. Sebastian ordered a sausage and peppers pizza that was to die for. Great crust, lots of cheese, and very tasty sauce. I’d definitely recommend Maar’s Pizza for anyone living in San Antonio.
So lets talk about how I’m doing with my diet while being on vacation….
For the past few days my eating has been all over the place. I start out the day eating clean and end the day eating foods like pizza. It’s hard knowing that I’m in full control of what I eat but then feeling so out of control since I’m not in my normal environment or really in control of the food being served to me. Still I have to remember that I do have some control and that one thing I can control is how much I move and exercise.
Since I knew I had plans for Friday night, I headed out for a run and walk this morning. I ran a loop in my parents neighborhood which ended up being 1.86 miles.
After my run I headed inside and convinced Neal to go for a long walk with me.
We ended our walk after 3.75 miles, closing out a great morning of working out.
For breakfast I had toast with peanut butter and a fresh fruit smoothie made in the Vitamix. For the smoothie I combined a pear, blackberries, strawberries, pomegranate juice, and ice.
A few hours later I headed over to my hairstylist’s for a new do! Eduardo colored my hair, taking it even closer to my natural color, and then gave me a little trim.
It was a great afternoon with my sister. We always love our time together at Eduardo’s!
Tonight Neal and I are going out with Stephanie and Sebastian. I’m looking forward to the trouble we’re going to get into!
Any fun plans this weekend?

I LOVE your hoodie!! It’s so cute! Also, it’s weird because I feel the same, but different foods at different times. Like I start my day really unhealthy (piece of candy while making breakfast) and by the end of the day I try to compensate for it with a salad or really light dinner, which means I’m starving when I wake up and the cycle repeats. I am definitely a creature of habit and the break from school and being at my parent’s house has definitely not been good for me even though I am fortunate enough to have a family that is supportive.
today we are going to watch the UK basketball game! WOO HOO, not sure about new years eve plans yet. And I want a juicer so I can make fun stuff like that!

Love the new “do” –and you know what— sometimes not worrying about every bite we put into our mouth and focusing on enjoying our time with those that are important to us is key.

Oh mannn that smoothie looks good! I had a smoothie for breakfast this morning, too
It was my first smoothie in a while because it’s not my favorite thing to have in the winter, but it was delicious!
