Meal planning is something that has helped me not only with my diet but also with my budget. Planning out breakfast and dinner always seems to come easy but planning out my lunches is always a challenge.
I love salads, don’t get me wrong, but some weeks they just bore me. Other weeks, like this week, making my lunch is the last thing on my mind at 8AM when I’m running out the door.
Knowing that this week was going to be a little more intense/stressful, I picked up a few Lean Cuisine’s at the grocery store as I knew they’d fulfill my cravings for flavorful foods while also giving me the nutrition I need midday.
I love the Lean Cuisine pizzas and panini sandwiches but the new Chef Pick meals caught my eye this week. I snagged two of Chef’s Pick meals, Steak Tips Portabello and Ranchero Braised Beef. Both dishes sounded flavorful and were both very low in Weight Watchers Points.
I took both meals to work, that way I’d have them on hand during this busy week.
Yesterday for lunch I had the Ranchero Braised Beef for just 6PP.
The mashed sweet potatoes were probably my favorite part of the dish, sweet with a hint of spice, but I also thought the beef was very tasty.
I really enjoyed this lunch but my only complaint is that it was not very filling. I think with a side salad or some carrot sticks it would have been a perfect lunch.
I was definitely excited to have found the new Culinary Collection and will definitely branch out from my pizza and panini Lean Cuisine favorites from here on out.
What’s your favorite Lean Cuisine meal? When you’re having a crazy week, what’s your go to lunch?
I have partnered with Lean Cuisine through DailyBuzz Food to help promote their new line of Chef’s Pick products. I have been compensated for my time commitment to work with this product. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments. Thank you Lean Cuisine!

We love those little pizzas — we buy them every once in a while for Kevin’s work lunches.

I am also a fan of the pizzas. I usually am good about planning out my lunches ahead of time, but I always keep a few cans of light Progresso soup and some crackers in my cupboard in my office just in case.

I bring a Lean Cuisine for lunch at work every day. But I always bring a side salad, baby carrots, or other fresh veggies to eat with it. That helps bulk up the lunch without too many calories, and keeps me full!
I know some people think it is gastly that I would eat “processed” food….but whatever. Haters will hate. LOL!
Haters will definitely hate!

Sometimes, the convenience of prepackaged food just can’t be beat. Those Lean Cuisines look pretty tasty!

I just tried that Braised Beef one for the first time this week, too! I really liked it. I also tried the tortilla crusted fish one and really liked it, too. I found it to be a lot more filling.

Are these Chef’s Picks options the ones that are inspired by dishes on Top Chef? Just curious.
Those are actually from another company (HC).

I’m a big fan of packed lunches and encourage friends to pack the night BEFORE work instead of morning. When they’re ready, I encourage meal planning so they can pack they right amount of foods to fit whatever calorie counts they need.
