My skin is a hot mess in the winter! As soon as the temperatures start to change in the fall my skin gets dry and itchy. It stinks.
Over the years though I’ve found some amazing products which keep my skin hydrated and healthy! It’s a different kind of hydration which is really important. I wash my face every night before I go to bed and every morning when I wake up with Origins Checks and Balances face wash.
This soap suds up well and leaves my face feeling very clean. Some soaps dry my skin out but this one does a good job of cleaning my skin but leaving it moisturized. I’ve used this soap for about 6 years now and hope that they never change it.
Next I apply a pea size amount of Origins Make a Difference Plus Rejuvenating Treatment to my entire face. I LOVE THIS STUFF. It is definitely my favorite product.
Next I apply a very small amount of Mary Kay’s Firming Eye Cream to the bags under my eyes (only in the morning).
I am not a big Mary Kay fan but I really like this product. It really does firm the skin and I can see a difference under my eyes. (I apologize for all the duck face pictures).
Next I apply my mositureizer to my entire face. I started using Origins Starting Over earlier last year and really like the new product.
Most days I’m a lazy bum and don’t put any makeup on but I’ve found that keeping up with this skin care routine makes a big difference in the health of my skin. When I do wear makeup I wear eye shadow, mascara, blush, and chap stick.
The last step in my morning and night routine is to apply some of the Origins Make a Different Rejuvenating Hand Treatment to my hands. It’s just a part of the routine and again, a product I love to use.
Now if I could just get Theodore to take better care of his fur… too much fun at the dog park yesterday!

I got hooked on Mary Kay last year and that’s all I use now….from the face wash all the way to the make-up!! Timewise is my fave too!!
Winter dry skin is no joke! It’s the worst! My hands and face definitely get hit the hardest since they’re exposed to all of the elements. Thanks for these product recommendations; I’m always looking for new things to try.

Thanks for the post. I have to check this stuff out. This is my first winter in Colorado and it is brutal. My legs and torso have been worse than my face though. Yikes. Not used to this dry winter!
My favorite face wash is Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser. It is so soft and creamy and doesn’t dry my skin at all!

I really like Merle Norman products and makeup! A little goes a long ways.
My skin gets so super dry too in winter and I’m always looking for new moisturizers! I have to be careful because I have super oily skin so I need something that is light and won’t clog my pores. It’s so tough!

My skin has been SUPER dry this winter! Way more than usual, for some reason. I’ve been using lotion practically all day long, and it barely seems to make a difference!
