Sometimes you just have to throw your hands up and surrender to the fact that you don’t know exactly what you’re doing. It’s no secret that I’ve been struggling with my diet and weight loss goals. Instead of being consumed by it though I’ve decided to just enjoy my life and to be patient as I figure out just what I’m doing.
Yesterday for breakfast I enjoyed a white chocolate and strawberry smoothie! In my blender I combined 1 cup of skim milk, 1 scoop of Designer Whey White Chocolate protein powder, and 1 cup of frozen strawberries.
Mid morning I enjoyed a delicious venti iced coffee and a few chocolate chip cookies, which kept me full until around 2PM. For lunch I had a salad made with butter lettuce, salmon, and Bolthouse Farms salad dressing.
After work I headed down to Dupont Circle for dinner with Rosey at Pizza Paradiso. Neal and I are HUGE fans of Pizza Paradiso so I was thrilled when Rosey said we should meet there.
For dinner Rosey and I started with the Insalata Paradiso.
I then ordered the Quattro Formaggi and asked the waiter to box half of it (to be taken home to Neal) and to bring the other half to me for dinner. It. Was. Awesome!
Being all over the place with my weight loss has been really difficult but throwing my hands up and deciding to be patient while I figure things out has been good for me. I know I want to lose more weight… now I just need to get my mind in the right place again.

I think we are at the same point now. I’ve thrown my hands up. I’m being mindful, but not obsessive. At the end of the say I figure that is what matters most in helping us achieve our weight loss goals!

I’ve been going through the same thing so I definitely know how you are feeling. It’s so hard! And that pizza looks so good! Have a great day!

White chocolate protein powder? Awesome! You’re SO inspiring to so many people because of your honestly, your struggles, and your perseverance. Just keep it up! I think you know more than you think you do…
Although, I totally get how you’re feeling. It can be such an exhausting, time consuming, all encompassing process sometimes.

Thank you so much Carly. I really appreciate your support.
I am in the same boat. It’s so hard and frustrating at time, but I won’t give up. I just keep trying new things and seeing what works!!
You seem to be doing a great job eating in moderation and are CLEARLY improving your fitness! Do you have any recent measurements? You might want to take new ones to compare, I bet you’re losing inches.
I was just saying this AM that I need to retake my measurements. I’ll definitely do it tonight.
I bought some vanilla Designer Protein a while back from TJ’s but ended up returning it because I hadn’t heard any reviews about it… Have you tried any of the other flavors? Pizzeria Paradisio is one of my favorite places to meet my girlfriends in Georgetown

I’ve only used the french vanilla and the white chocolate. I’ve enjoyed both flavors but I’ve never just tried them plain, I always use them in smoothies or something with lots of ingredients.

I think sometimes letting go of a little stress is exactly what helps the body get back on track and hhhheck yes thinking about losing weight and what to eat or not eat is totally stressful
fun with friends is a great choice!

Thanks Amanda!! I think you’re right about letting go of stress.
I’m having a very similar problem so it’s good I hear I’m not alone. Like others have said, at least you continue to be mindful while you try and figure it all out. If nothing else, at least you’re not back tracking!! I hope you find something that works for you soon so you have some peace of mind!
Pizza Paradiso is one of my favorite restaurants in the city! MMmmmmm

Ohmygosh! That pizza looks amazing. I understand how you feel with the feeling fed up with weight loss. It’s a constant battle that sometimes I just get tired of fighting. Keep making the best choices you can and you’ll get there.

Sometimes it is GOOD to step back, release some of the stress about weight loss. I was at that point during my weight loss where I worried/thought about it too much.
You will figure it out ; you are doing a great job with your workouts and your meals.
I will say, once I stopped consuming most processed foods it all came together for me.
That salad looks delicious! I never thought to put salmon in a salad, but that’s such a good idea.

It’s especially hard when “the experts” keep changing their mind and introducing new fad ideas to try! I’m glad you’ve decided to be patient with yourself. That’s a wonderful idea!
