Last night my friend Becky and I met up at this AWESOME beer, wine, cheese, and sandwich shop in Rockville, MD. Gilly’s, which turns 5 this year, is just about the coolest place I’ve found since moving to Maryland.
Gilly’s has an outstanding craft beers selection, with hundreds of beers to choose from!
They also have 19 taps and an awesome wine list.
But what brought Becky and I there last night was their deli menu.
I mean, how awesome does this special sound?? Smoked salmon on pumpernickel? YUM!
For dinner I ordered the Roast Beef Sammy on whole wheat.
The whole wheat 6 inch roll was topped with roast beef, horseradish cheddar, lettuce, red onion, tomato, and mayo. It was so filling and absolutely delicious!
Becky ordered Nancy’s Country Pate which was pate, brie, tarragon mustard, and veggies on a baguette.
I also ordered a sandwich to go for Neal. He asked for the Wild Wally, which Neal said “is the best sandwich I’ve ever had”. The sandwich is turkey, blue cheese, buffalo sauce, mayo, and lettuce on a toasted baguette.
I highly recommend Gilly’s for anyone in the DC area! It is well worth the drive to Rockville and is in walking distance from the Twinbrook metro station.
I can’t wait to go back with Neal some time and to try out some of their other sandwiches… and to order a beer!
