What I love most about fitness is its ability to be a part of your daily life. Fitness doesn’t have to be something you only do Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, instead it can permeate all areas of your life!
Whether it’s taking the stairs instead of the elevator or going for a walk with your loved ones after dinner, fitness doesn’t just have to be the workouts you plan or schedule Monday-Sunday.
This summer I made walking a part of my daily and weekly routine. Whether it was taking Theodore for a long walk after dinner, walking to a distant metro stop, or just getting out of my chair at work more (still working on this one), I made it my goal to walk more. I also made it a goal to do more with Neal outside. Instead of spending time watching TV or talking inside, we went for long walks, visited parks around the area, and tried out new farmers markets. We got out and thus got moving more! We also started out Army 10 Miler training together which has been wonderful!
Wearing workout gear that supports my fitness goals has also become really important to me. 10 years ago you would have found me in over sized basketball shorts and camp t-shirts, but today you’ll find me in clothes that support my body and my fitness.

Making fitness a part of my daily life has been a lot of fun! I can feel the difference, not only in my body, but also in my lifestyle and attitude. I’m still working on incorporating fitness into my work day, but I’m getting there.
