Last week my beautiful sister Alison, who has lost almost 30 pounds on her own I might add, joined Weight Watchers!  I was so pumped to know that we'd both be doing the program and could help ea . . . My birthday is next Tuesday, WOO HOO, so you know what that means... It's time to party time to evaluate my 28 by 28 list.  So let's see how I did... Health and Fitness 1. Treadmill Workouts

Treadmill Workout

After a week dedicated to my puppy, it's now time to return to the gym.  With Neal returning home tomorrow I'll have a lot more freedom to get out of the apartment and to head on down to the gym for a workout. Despite the fact that I haven't been to the gym in a week, walking Theodore 4-6 times a day has helped me to reach my daily steps goals and to keep moving.  Theo also keeps me from being b . . . Hi there Coffee, Cake and Cardio readers! I’m Sarah from Sarah Learns and I’m so happy that Ashley invited me to chat with you today about something that I didn’t even think about until after I got married (she’s way more prepared than I was!) ... newlywed weight gain. My husband and I got married on august 27, 2011. It was such an amazing day and I had so much fun with all of the wedding plan . . . Continue Reading »

Food Compromises in Relationships

BACHELORETTE

A big “thank you” to Ashley for letting me share my story while she is on her honeymoon! Guest Post by Lisa Eirene I used to tip the scales at 250 pounds. I was only twenty-five years old yet I was developing diabetes and I had high blood pressure. The prospect of being diabetic scared me enough that I made the changes I needed to make. It took me almost two years to lose 110 pounds b . . . Continue Reading »

Looking Back On The Week

bucket table numbers

Woo Wee!  What a week!  Looking back on the past 7 days, it's unbelievable how much has gone on.  It all started Monday with a surprise bridal shower at work and a trip to BWI to pick up my beautiful sister! My boss made us beautiful strawberry and blueberry shortcakes (which Neal thoroughly enjoyed Monday evening) for the shower.  It was such a treat to be able to celebrate with my co- . . . Olympic Motivation

I'll never forget the 1996 Olympics.  I was 12 years old, fascinated with sports, excited about the Olympics being in Atlanta, and just about obsessed with gymnastics.  This still gives me chills... I even got the 1996 Olympics VHS tape for Christmas that year... oh yeah, like I said I was kinda obsessed.  The Olympics are magical and as a young athlete, they motivated me to get better at my . . . Happy First Birthday!

DSC02547

Today is Coffee, Cake and Cardio's one year birthday! My very first post was written on April 5, 2011 and little did I know how much she'd grow in one year.  I started Coffee, Cake and Cardio, not really knowing what I was doing or what my focus was going to be.  I knew that I wanted to share my life, my journey, and to connect with others.  It took me a few months to get a hang of it and to . . .
